Soup Night on Saturday Night.
December, January and February*

We cook up a couple of different soups or stews for dinner on Saturday night with a variety of crackers and cheeses, or perhaps, cornbread.

The charge is $5 per person.

* We have Soup Nights during December, January and February except Christmas or New Year weekends, and any weekends in February when we are doing the Valentine Dinners.

Stay Relaxed with Soup Night

Does the holiday season exhaust you?

For many, Thanksgiving means a big get-together with the attendent shopping, cooking and cleaning. That is immediately followed by the Christmas shopping season sprint. Hours turn into days of walking, shopping, decorating and visiting. The New Year follows closely with more get-togethers and celebration.

By January, most of us are exhausted!

Perhaps a weekend of true quiet, relaxation during early or mid December is what you need to get ready for that last big burst of energy through year-end.

Or, maybe you are too busy then, but you are desperate to recuperate by the time January gets here.

Many of our regulars find that Mountain Thyme fills that need perfectly!

A Weekend of Piddling Around.

piddle   - verb
to spend time in a wasteful, trifling, or ineffective way; dawdle
(often followed by around). "He wasted the day piddling around."

The Inn is decorated for the Holiday Season and there is a wood fire in the Common Room. One of the Dining Room tables always has a jigsaw puzzle in progress. There may be a card game at another and a board game at still another.

Your weekend starts on your way in on Friday evening with a stop at The Shack where you grab one of their great Shackburgers. Eat there or bring it with you and eat in the Dining Room. You get checked in and change into some really comfy lounge wear.

You may want to get a nap, sit in front of the fire and stare, watch a movie, start a good book, or stop by and work on the jigsaw puzzle for a little while. You may prefer to join a game of Dominoes, Hand & Foot, or Upwards. Or not. There is no schedule, nowhere to be, nothing planned.

Your whole weekend is just this: Piddling Around.

Saturday is more of the same. If a board game piques your interest, there are always a couple of others ready to play. But again, you do not need to make plans, go anywhere, or do anything.

Of course the day will start with a big breakfast. And on these weekends, we usually have a heavier afternoon snack than usual. So, you can nibble your way through the afternoon. Then we do the soup/stew that evening.

By the time you've finished breakfast on Sunday, you will look back on a really relaxing weekend. You will feel refreshed and ready to face the world once again.

Just be careful that you don't get addicted to it!
